I'm sure you must know this, but in case you don't, the woman behind Fornasetti's illustrations was an opera singer of world-renowned beauty named Lina Cavalieri.

Thanks Maggie for the links to the photos and the biography! I knew that the illustrations were of a famous opera singer. The photos that you linked to are beautiful and it would be intriguing to read the bio!
